Demonstration Gardens

The half-acre demonstration garden at Monocacy Farm Project provides a platform for teaching natural agriculture and organic gardening methods. Onsite and school-based educational programs offer hands-on field experience in basic gardening, as well as introductions to medicinal and native plant gardening, permaculture design, orchard planning and maintenance, and ornamental horticulture. Targeted audiences include area residents as well as children and adults in low-income communities. Additional off-site/backyard instruction and assistance is available to families who wish to start their own home gardens to supplement their food resources.
